I created this card using old sheet music, ink, oil pastel and photocopied visual diary pages. I made sketches of Thames Barges whilst out on the water, watching the Medway Barge Match recently, and copied a couple of these onto the back of the photocopies, then cut out the silhouettes. Four handmade cards designed with the recipient in mind. The sheet music squares are from one of the music books my mother used when she was learning to play the piano and contain notes made by her tutor. The silhouettes are cut out of photocopied art journal pages. .

Pages from my visual diary. Created using layers of mixed media including collage, acrylics, inks, stamping, stencils and writing. The woman’s face (detail below) appeared on the page. I drew around it and used acrylic paint and ink to highlight the features. . .
